Your Best Makeup Routine: Eyebrows

your best makeup routine

Whether you want a 5 minute makeup routine, a minimalist makeup routine or just an everyday look, you can create your own routine, step by step!

Depending on what I’m doing, the length of my makeup routine varies. The way I do my makeup for work is very different from how I do it for taking photos.

When I decided to get my eyebrows nanobladed, I thought about how much time it would take out of my makeup routine. And I had sort of an epiphany! The time I spend doing my eyebrows is different from the time someone else might want to spend!

Although even I’ve done posts about how to do 5, 10 and 15 minute makeup, what’s important to me, might not be important to you!

So why not build your makeup routine, piece by piece, by how much time you want to spend.

These are just general estimates for how long each grouping will take. After some practice, you’ll probably be able to go faster. And if you haven’t done your makeup in a while (hi, it’s me!) you might forget what to do and when!

Throughout this series, you’ll be able to create your own makeup routine from start to finish. How much time you want to spend overall, and how much time you want to spend on each step.

Because my eyebrow routine is going to be cut drastically, we’re going to start there.

Think about how much time you want to spend doing your brows – 1 minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes!

A good brow day! And yes, Oli is always this cute

The Products:

1 Minute Brows

This can be even less than a minute!

The easiest and fastest way to do your brows is using either a clear or tinted brow gel to do some taming. This is ideal if you have full brows already, and have them shaped.

If you have some sparse areas, you can use a pencil to quickly fill them in.

5 Minute Brows

The happy medium of eyebrows! With this method, you can use your favorite product to create more shapely brows.

I start with a pencil on the underside of my brows from the inner corner to the outer corner. Then I’ll draw the top part of the brow. Usually from the middle to the outer corner. I don’t put as much product in the inner portion of my brows so it doesn’t just look like a block!

Using a spoolie, I’ll brush and blend my brows so they look more natural. Once I’m happy with how they look, I’ll use a brow gel to lock them into place!

10 Minute Brows

These super sculpted brows were really popular on YouTube 5+ years ago. I’ll sometimes do this for pictures, but this is a once in a while thing!

Follow the steps for the five-minute brows through blending.

Continue defining your brows until you’re happy with the shape. For me, I’ll use a brow pomade on the arch and tail of my brow for a crisper line.

I’ll also make sure the tail is darker than the inner corner. If you want to be super extra like me, I’ll use a brow pen on the inner corner to draw some hair-like strokes.

Once I’m happy with the shape, I’ll take a small brush with concealer and clean up around the edges for a super clean line. Make sure you blend out the concealer into your foundation!

Finish with brow gel so everything stays in place!

Do you know which brow you’re going to add to your routine? I’d love to know!
