Summer is here! When the weather gets warmer, there’s a handful of products I make sure I have on hand. To keep me cool, to keep my skin safe and looking flawless! Check out my summer essentials below! These are in no particular order, just things I love!

10. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

Wearing sunscreen isn’t just one of my summer essentials, you should wear it year-round! I tend to be picky about what sunscreen I wear on my face, and how it wears under makeup. I’ve fallen in love with the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen!

It has a primer-like texture that works really well under makeup, but also makes my skin look great on its own. I recently purchased the Glowscreen, and will likely use it as a primer and BB cream this summer!

My skin is more on the dry side, but if you have oily skin, they have a matte version and the Mineral Sheerscreen.

9. Undone Beauty Unfoundation Light Coverage Glow Tint

This has become my go-to foundation over the past month or so. It says it’s light coverage, and has been more than enough for daily wear. It’s definitely not sheer, and you could build it up if you want more coverage. I’ll also use the Undone Beauty Conceal to Reveal concealer palette if I need a little more oomph.

I love how it looks on my skin, so much so that I’ve worn it for a couple photo shoots/events, and it looks just as good as a heavier foundation would!

You don’t have to use the Undone Beauty formula, but I would recommend finding a tinted moisturizer, BB cream or CC cream for the summer. You don’t want to feel like your whole face is melting off in the summer, but you still want to look cute!

8. Face Tan Drops and Moisturizer

Just because you’re protecting your face from the sun, doesn’t mean you can’t look sunkissed! I love using tanning drops mixed in with moisturizer at night. Personally, I keep my other skincare to a minimum when I’m doing a faux-tan. Looked bronzed is one of everyone’s summer essentials, right?

I’ll “tan” every couple days, so I can keep up with my other skincare routine too. And bring the moisturizer down your neck too! You don’t want the tan stopping at your jawline!

Plus, don’t forget to exfoliate! It’s likely going to remove the top layer of your tan, but I plan on exfoliating the same day I tan.

We’ve talked about how to get a flawless faux-tan, if you want to tan your whole body!

7. Sun Hat

When I plan on spending time outside, I always make sure I’m wearing this sun hat for protection. What I love about it is I don’t need to keep my hair down, or find some awkward way to stuff it inside a hat. My ponytail fits right out the top!

6. Hair Part Sunscreen

There have been plenty of times when I’ve forgotten my scalp is indeed skin, and have ended up with a pink part. Enter this genius product – hair part sunscreen! A couple of spritzes on your part (that don’t leave any white cast, visible residue, etc.) and you’re protected from a part burn!

5. After Sun Lotion

So you spent a little more time outside in the sun than you planned, and you’ve got a little bit of a burn. It happens, and it’s happened to me too. Even this Memorial Day weekend was warmer than many years passed, and it’s like I forgot how the sun worked.

As soon as you realize you’ve overdone it a bit, start using an after sun lotion at least once a day! If your burn hurts, it should help soothe your skin a bit (and take an anti-inflammatory too) and keep your skin hydrated and hopefully minimize any peeling.

4. Bronzer

I use bronzer year-round, but in the summer I amp it up a bit so I look extra bronzed! Place your bronzer places where the sun would naturally hit you, like the bridge of your nose!

3. Bike Shorts

I’m a newer bike shorts enthusiast, and boy do I love them. They’re perfect for around the house, exercising or even running errands! I’m not the bike shorts, tiny crop top type. I’m more Princess Diana, with an oversized t-shirt or sweatshirt.

2. Hydroflask

Everywhere and anywhere I go, I have a Hydroflask with me. At home, I have a 40oz bottle that goes from room to room, and try to refill at least 2-3 times a day. When I go out, I have a 24oz bottle that fits better in my purse and cup holder.

Hydration is SO IMPORTANT to looking and feeling healthy, so make sure you’re staying hydrated when it’s hot outside!

The best part of the Hydroflask is it keeps your water at the temperature you want it to be. Put some ice in there, and it’s going to stay cold for a LONG time

1. Handheld Fan

A handheld fan has some in handy for myself when it’s especially hot outside, and Eme loves it too! We made sure we had a fan in Disney World, so Eme could try and keep cool in the hot weather.

I keep it at the ready in the summer for Eme if she starts to get warm, or if I need to cool down too!

BONUS! Cool Towel

If you haven’t heard of or tried a cool towel, it’s amazing for the hot weather! All you do is get the cool towel wet, wring it out, and you’re good to go! It feels cold for a long time, and is great for putting on the back of your neck when you’re feeling a little too hot.
