This has been a pretty wild start to the year already. In our (Jen’s) house we’ve had: a small basement flood, a broken furnace, dead fridge, a crown pop out, and Covid. Just to name a few!
So, we’ve kept things sort of low-key the past couple of months, and my Amazon favorites definitely reflect that!
Here’s how I’ve been getting through the past couple months!
Skincare
Clean Skin Club Towels
I haven’t done my makeup often this year, but I started hearing about these Clean Skin Club “towels” and wanted to check them out! I saw them at my sister’s house when we were there for her wedding, and then saw them everywhere!
The long and short of it is they’re disposable face towels for after washing your face. The towels we use on our faces have so much dirt and bacteria on them from using them over and over before washing. With these, you don’t have to worry!
AND they’re biodegradable and eco-friendly, so you don’t have to feel guilty about throwing them away!
Snail Mucin Serum
I had also heard about Snail Mucin over and over again, and wanted to give it a try too. Even though I was a little weirded out. I mean, it’s literally snail secretion.
But once I was able to get over the initial weirdness, it really is a great product! Made my skin super soft and glowy!
There’s a moisturizer that a lot of people like too, so maybe when I run out of my current moisturizer I’ll give it a shot!
Reading
Kindle
I’ve been putting my Kindle to good use, and reading a lot of books. Is anyone on Goodreads? I just joined!
Even though I’ve talked about my Kindle before, I still love it. So I’m going to call it one of my favorites, again.
I even crocheted my Kindle its own little pouch. More to come on crochet soon.
Plus, the Libby app syncs with my Kindle, so I have lots of options for where I can get books from!
Happy Place – by Emily Henry
This was the first book I read this year when it was my turn in the Libby app. I enjoy lighthearted romantic stories, or business/self-help books. This falls into the lighthearted category.
It’s about a couple who broke up six months before their annual friends’ trip, but still haven’t told their friends. So they’re trying to get through this vacation without anyone letting on they aren’t together anymore.
It’s a cute, feel-good book, if you’re in the mood for something fun!
Crochet
Parfait Chunky Yarn
I’ve been a crochet maniac lately. I can’t get enough!
A lot of the crochet people I follow on Insta use the Parfait Chunky Yarn. But it does seem like there’s a Parfait Chunky Yarn camp and a Bernat Blanket Yarn camp. Maybe I’m just making up a whole crochet West Side Story scenario in my head though.
Regardless, I went a little crazy and have ordered a lot of yarn. But that’s ok, because there’s a lot of things I want to make! It’s super soft and fuzzy, so it’s made a lot of really cute stuffed animals for Eme!
Woobles Book
I’ve also been really into the Woobles since the end of last year. I made the whole holiday series of Woobles – Gingerbread man, Elf, Santa and Santa Snoopy. PLUS their advent calendar.
For Christmas, my sister got me the Woobles book with all sorts of really cute patterns! I’ve been working my way through it, trying out different things. I even made Eme a cute little bee in a couple hours, that she was so excited about!
If you want to get into crochet and aren’t sure where to start, definitely check out the Woobles!
What have you been into this year so far? What are your current Amazon favorites? I’d love to know!
