Do you know how much of your skincare products you should be using? Using too little product won’t give you the results you want. But using too much product might end up irritating your skin, plus you’re wasting product and money!
Face wash – Dime
If you’ve been wearing makeup, make sure you’re double cleansing to get all the dirt and grime on your skin. And, use check out this post to find the best face wash for your skin type.
You don’t need too much face wash, just about a dime size. Too much and your end could end up stripped, and feeling “squeaky clean”.
Toner – Couple drops in your hand or on a cotton round
Keep toner to just a couple drops in your hand or on a cotton round. Toner will get rid of any residual dirt, and prep your skin for the next products in your skincare routine!
Not using toner? No big deal! But toner can also be great for additional exfoliation too!
Eye Cream – Pea sized amount
Your eye area is so small, you don’t need a lot of eye cream. Put just a pea sized amount on your ring finger, warm it with your other ring finger, and gently pat into your eye area.
Serum – Pea sized amount
Serum can be expensive, but it has great benefits for your skin. Thankfully, you don’t need much, just a pea sized amount!
Pat into your skin after washing your face and toner, but before moisturizer!
Moisturizer – Quarter
Hopefully you’re using moisturizer, and the right one for your skin type too! This is close to the most you’ll use of your skincare products. A quarter size amount will help your skin stay moisturized and ready for makeup!
Sunscreen – Teaspoon (face and neck)
You know you should always wear sunscreen, right? On your face and neck, make sure you’re using at least a teaspoon. There’s lots of great brands and formulas that work well under makeup and with your skin type!
Exfoliator – Dime
Make sure you’re exfoliating once or twice a week, and using just a dime size amount of product. Over exfoliating will break down your moisture barrier, leading to flaky and irritated skin. But you want to make sure you are exfoliating, so your skincare products absorb into your skin and your makeup looks smooth!
