It’s March so it’s the perfect time to talk about the best new trends for Spring/Summer 2024. Spring New York Fashion Week 2024 took place in September 2023. What we love about writing this post at this time of year is that the trends are starting to pop up in the stores. So, if you’re an early season shopper, this is the perfect time for you. You can decide which trends are right for you and add to your closet now.
BEST NEW TRENDS FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2024: THE TOP 10
The process we use in listing these trends starts by creating a “scorecard”. We’ll read one article and make an initial list and as we read more articles, we will give points to a trend each time we see it. We couldn’t list every single trend that is mentioned in every article, so we narrow it down to the top 10 that seem consistent across the board.
We also consider what we/you would REALLY wear. So, there might be a trend that you’ve seen a little more of, but we picked the ones that we could see us adding to our wardrobe today.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2024: Bows
Let’s start with what appears to be the number one on the list for new trends for Spring/Summer 2024: Bows. If your immediate reaction is “not for me”, we encourage you to think again. While hair bows are very popular, there are lots of subtle ways to add bows to your closet this season, especially in accessories. Bows are definitely not just for young girls!

Suiting, Especially White Suits
Suiting is really on trend for this season. Part of the reason is the movement to get out of our sweat and back to more structured dressing. White suiting is the biggest trend within the trend. All white outfits in general, are going to be extremely popular this season.
You’ll also see a lot of belts with suits which we will talk about a little further down. Belts are also having their moment this season.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2024: Sheer Everything
Sheer has been hanging around the last few seasons and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. While all these designer looks below are chic and stylish, they are probably not what we are going to wear. But that doesn’t mean we can’t incorporate the trend into our wardrobe.
There are simple ways to get this trend that you can wear everyday, like sheer sleeves or sheer tops that you can easily wear a top underneath.

Slouchy Shoulders
The slouchy shoulder look is basically an asymmetrical shoulder. It was not difficult to find both tops and dresses with this silhouette. It’s a little bit feminine and a little bit sexy, but a look that really everyone can wear. You can determine how much bare shoulder you want to show with the different options below.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2024: Large Handbags
Big bags are back and one thing we read is “because we are very busy”. With the suit trending and lots of people returning to the office, the big bag is back to carry all our stuff!

Drop Waists
Of all the trends that we researched, it feels like drop waists are one of the newest and upcoming trends. Many of the other trends like bows we’ve seen slowly rising. So, we would expect that this is just the start of the drop waist. We had a little bit of trouble finding a lot of options, but they are out there.

Liquid Gold
Metallics are another trend that has been gaining ground over the past few seasons. While we’ve seen both silver and gold in the last couple of year, this season’s focus in all gold.
If you don’t want to go “all-in” on a liquid gold dress or top, consider accessories. There are lots of gold shoes, bags and more.

Rosettes
The rosette trend and the bow trend go together in that they are both a part of the “girl-core” trend. A lot of it started with the feminine Barbie trend of last year and it continues. This is where ballet-core continues as well. While we don’t have it listed out separately, ballet flats are still hugely popular this season.
Again, this is a trend that works perfectly with accessories. Rosette chokers are very chic and feminine and an easy and inexpensive way to add the trend this season.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2024: Belts
As we mentioned above, belts are having a moment again. It’s not just wide or statement belts. Thin belts are in style as well this season.

Fringe
Fringe is back this season. Last year Dianne got on board with this trend with some fringe earrings, which is an easy choice. We are loving the fringe straw bags for spring as well. They are fun and because of their neutral color, you will get a lot of use out of them this season.
