The holidays and winter make me think of bright, fresh-looking holiday makeup. Around December, I don’t do as many warm-brown eye looks with a neutral lip, and instead, get back into cooler toned makeup!
If you remember our Thanksgiving makeup looks post, we cautioned you to stay away from dark lip colors that will get everywhere when you eat. And that’s still the case now. However! A lot of holiday parties are primarily appetizers and drinks, so you can wear bright lipstick with a little less worry.
I’d still recommend a liquid lipstick formula that is going to stay put!
Makeup Look #1
Starting with the eyes, I love an all-over cool-toned cream lid color, and maybe a little bit of a cool-toned brown in the crease if you want a little bit of definition.
To take it up a notch, add some shimmer or glitter on the lid!
Finish off your eyes with a bold wing liner and a bunch of mascara!
Keep the rest of your skin bright with limited bronzer and blush. Just a little bit to give your face a little bit of definition.
When you put on your lipstick, make sure you use a lip liner first! This will help a ton with your liquid lipstick application, and keep your lipstick from feathering too much.
Makeup Look #2
If you’re not sure you want to go full-on glitter shadow and red lip, here’s something a little more low-key!
Try out a taupe-tone eyeshadow palette for a beautiful look! Keep it matte, or add a little bit of shimmer on the lid.
You don’t need a lot of blush, but use a cool-toned shade to give the subtle hint of a flush, after coming in from the cold.
Use a highlighter on your cheekbones for a little bit of sparkle (like an Elf!).
You don’t need to go super bold with your lip either, use a beautiful glossy and sheer lip color.
