Beautiful and Easy Thanksgiving Makeup

While I love a dark lip color in the fall (or any time for that matter), it makes eating and looking cute pretty difficult. There’s a 99% chance I’m going to end up with lipstick on my chin after I’ve eaten something. So I’m not going to risk my makeup by wearing dark lipstick for Thanksgiving, where I’m supposed to eat all day! For Thanksgiving makeup, I like to focus more on the eyes, for an overall gorgeous fall look! Plus, if you’re anything like me, the day after Thanksgiving means Christmas, and my makeup POV changes!

I love a monochromatic makeup look, and fall colors look beautiful on everyone!

For both of these looks, do your foundation/concealer routine however works best for you, and then pick it up when it’s time for the rest of your face!

Use a burnt orange color all over your lid and into the crease. A matte look is gorgeous, but if you want to take it a step further, add a shimmer shade on your lid. And if you want the shimmer to be extra bright, dampen your shadow brush with a makeup spray or use your finger for more payoff.

I’m obsessed with all of the e.l.f Cosmetics Bite Size Eyeshadow Palettes, so naturally the Pumpkin Pie palette made the list!

Line your eyes with a brown pencil liner, and use one of the orange shades on your lower lashline to bring the eye look together!

You can do this look similar to the burnt orange above, or you can turn it into a cranberry smokey eye!

Starting with the lightest shade, put the color all over your lid and into the crease. Start working with the next darkest shade and start building the color in your crease and blending out. Keep adding darker colors and blend, blend, blend!

If you want to lighten up the lid a bit, you can either use a shimmer shade, or use a light color matte shade and pack it onto the lid. If you have a non-translucent setting powder compact, this works really well too!

Thanksgiving Makeup Inspired By: Green Bean Casserole

Thanksgiving makeup look

This is a little out there, but hear me out! It’s not an all-over green eyeshadow look (even though that would be gorgeous), it’s a smokey green liner!

For this look, you’re going to start with your face totally bare, and grab yourself some scotch tape.

Rip off a small piece of tape, and put it on the back of your hand to get some of the stickiness off.

Place the tape starting under the lower lashline, and extending up toward your temples.

Start with neutral shadows first, a creamy color and your favorite brown crease shades. Once you have a super basic eye look done, now we’re going to get to the good part!

Either with an angled brush, precise brush or flat brush, starting at the midway point of the tape, use a green eyeshadow to trace the tape line down to your lid.

Using the green shadow, continue building your wing until you’re happy with how it looks. Make sure you line your eyes as well! If you want a little more color payoff and staying power, dampen your brush with a setting spray, and it’ll be more like a liner.

Either you can stick with a crisp line, or you can use a small fluffy brush and one of your neutral shadows to diffuse the line a bit.

Once you’re happy with the liner, take the tape off, and you have a gorgeous wing! If you have any fallout, use a makeup wipe to remove the shadow. Then do your foundation and concealer routine like usual, but make sure you work around your shadow!

Use the brown shadows under your lower lash line, after you’ve done the rest of your makeup.
