It’s time to start talking about the best sandals for summer. Here in Michigan we are just edging into sandal season, but we know many of you started wearing them weeks ago.

Here are some of our favorites in all different categories because we know that you need different sandals for different occasions: for travel, for running errands, just to name a few. Our list includes pretty much everything you need!
We could not have more different feet. Jen’s feet are long and narrow and Dianne’s are short and wide! So, Jen can wear pretty much any type of sandal without any problems. Dianne has to be a little more selective and tries to stick to more thong styles because the straps can hurt unfortunately.
That’s why we have a section on wide sandals as well. Dianne’s already done the research personally so she figured she should share in case there are others out there like her.

For me (Dianne) is where my foot is happiest. They are the most comfortable for me and with a wide foot, I feel this style hides it well. I know a lot of people don’t like “something between their toes” but I say give them a chance!

Wedges seem to come in and out of favor in boots, but they never seem to go out of favor when it comes to summer shoes. Like most people, we like wedges because they look stylish but are easy to wear and be comfortable in.

The Best Sandals for Fun: Prints and More
These best fit into the category of “fun”. While you might think, “when would I ever wear these?”, we find that if you have them, you’ll build your outfit around them! That’s what we do!
The Best Sandals for Travel & Walking
We all know that these are the toughest sandals to buy. It’s all about riding that fine line between style and comfort. So, while these might not be the cutest, they all have great ratings for comfort. Think about trying them in a fun color, like the lavender Chaco pair below. Those should make you smile!
Wide Width Sandals
If you have wide feet or even bunions, you may need a wider width sandal to be more comfortable. Here are few for you to consider. We find that Target has the best selection of wide shoes each season, but you do need to shop early. I (Dianne) purchased some wide sandals back in February!
All these are wide width. Many come in medium width also.
