How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 14

Last updated on January 9th, 2023 at 12:19 pm

Here we are with “How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 14”. Last month we went right into the heart of fall, but with outfits you can wear comfortably before winter. We’re doing a little bit of the same this month. These are all looks you can wear now and for the next few weeks. We’re also including alternative looks, to give you more ideas on how these pieces might work with your style.

This is how “How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 14” works: We decide together on the items that we want to style. We do not share how we were going to style each one, so that we can’t influence each other. Sometimes we will style things very similar and sometimes very different. But we hope in all cases we give you some style inspiration, no matter what your age or life stage!

This is a simple but fun outfit, great for running errands (or handing out Halloween candy). I kept it basic with plain black leggings, combat boots and a crossbody bag to run my errands hands free!

For my alternate look, I pretty much stayed with the all black, but with jeans, sneakers and backpack (still going hands-free). Add the beanie and hoop earrings and your look is complete.

I didn’t plan on this being an all-liquid legging edition of Wear it at Any Age. But as I was putting together outfits, I loved how everything looked with these leggings!

Halloween and coffee – what a great shirt combination! If you’re not planning on having a full-on Halloween costume, this shirt is great for taking kids out trick-or-treating!

I loved how this looked with the liquid leggings, it gave it even moe of a witchy vibe. I recently got these boots from Target and they’re so warm! Perfect around here in Michigan when you have no idea what kind of Halloween you’re going to get weather-wise.

This bag is a Louis Vuitton dupe from Dallas and Dottie. They don’t have it anymore, but you should check out all the super cute clothes and accessories on their site! Similar bags linked below! I don’t buy many dupes, but for the longest time I was intrigued by bumbags and didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a LV version!

JEN’S ALTERNATE LOOK:

For my alternate outfit, I’m still sticking with black, but now black jeans! I wear my Air Force 1’s with everything. Those and this faux leather jacket are an awesome combination for trick or treating! Plus a backpack so you can stay hands-free while walking around!

How to Wear it at Any Age: Fuzzy Fleece Cardigan Coat

DIANNE’S STYLING

Woman wearing fuzzy brown coat

Yes, this coat is as cozy as it looks. We’ve been talking about the popularity of brown this season this coat fits right in. As we mentioned, it is a “cardigan” so it doesn’t have any buttons or zipper, so you have to wear it open. I actually played with belting in for a fitted look, but I didn’t have the right belt. But I am recommending that in my alternate look.

I kept my look in the brown family with the tan jeans, brown mock neck and tan boots. I love the fall look of this outfit.

DIANNE’S ALTERNATE LOOK:

I still like keeping this all in the brown family and a fall look. As I mentioned, I would try to belt the jacket for a cinched look. The coat is somewhat thick, so I would definitely go up a size if you decide to try the belt. But you could just as easily wear this coat open with the tan sweater dress and the statement necklack.

This coat is so warm and cozy, plus it’s super cute at the same time! You might recognize this sweatshirt from our post on team gear! I picture myself wearing this outfit to go watch the game at a bar with friends. You want to look cute, be warm, and represent your team all at the same time!

JEN’S ALTERNATE LOOK:

Other ways to wear the brown coat

Obviously this coat can be dressed up too! Want a super cute and super easy outfit option? Try a full monochrome look! These cream pants and cardigan from Madewell look so good together, and compliment the brown jacket!

The faux snake skin boots add a little more texture to the outfit, and I love the funky shape of the handbag.

How to Wear it at Any Age: Wool Fedora

DIANNE’S STYLING

Jen and I already owned these fedoras, so we decided to style something that we already own. The only difference is the color.

I like wearing my fedora as what I call an “outside outfit”, not just with a coat. This is the kind of outfit I would wear doing some downtown Rochester shopping or even going to brunch. If I take off the denim jacket, the hat still works with the dress and boots.

DIANNE’S ALTERNATIVE LOOK:

I wanted to add a little pop of color to this outfit and did that with the wine colored pants and handbag. The cropped plaid shacket is a great look to match the fedora in texture.

JEN’S STYLING

Woman wearing camel fedora

In the fall, I usually wear a lot of beanies, but this hat is so cute and classy!

Plaid and flannel are essential for fall, and I could picture myself wearing this outfit to go pumpkin picking, when you know you want to get a few cute pictures, ha!

I can’t find this jacket online, and the sweater is old, but I’ve included some super cute alternatives!

Alternatively, still sticking with a plaid theme, how cute is this hat with this jacket and sweater dress? Picture wearing this to brunch with friends or your significant other!

Come winter, pair the dress with opaque tights, and a pea coat, and you have a totally different holiday outfit!
