When we were compiling our information for our New York Fashion Week Spring Trends post, we noticed that there were more accessories trends this year than we’ve seen in the past. So much so, that we thought it warranted an entire post!
So, here are top six accessories trends that we see coming for Spring 2023.

Accessories Trends #1: Large Handbags
Prior to the pandemic, it seemed that micro bags were all the rage. But the nightlife industry basically disappeared for two years, leaving not a lot of use for those small “going out” bags. Then, post pandemic, people started looking for more comfort and versatility, which led to bringing back larger bags to carry everything from laptops, iPad, makeup bags, you name it.
We could list large bags for days here, so to keep it simple, we’ve organized it by price to let you decide what works for you.
Large Handbags: Under $100
Large Handbags: $100 – $250
Large Handbags: $251 – $500
We can’t leave out Dianne’s former workplace, K. Carroll Accessories. Their Taylor Tote was named one of Oprah’s Favorite Things for 2022 and you can see why. The bag is a gorgeous faux suede and fits the bit bag trend perfectly. It’s $60 and comes in 10 colors.
Accessories Trends #2: Ballet Shoes
You may have already heard that this trend is coming. It’s probably the number one trend we saw at the spring shows. If you remember last season’s “Barbiecore”, this has already been dubbed “Balletcore”.
The “Balletcore” trend has also sparked a trend in colors – pastel pink is also trending for Spring. We’ll cover that in the colors section below.
For me personally (Dianne), ballet shoes are hard to wear for a couple of reasons. I mention this because if you have some of the same issues as me, these tips may help. I have a very wide foot and round toed shoes seem to exacerbate this. So if I were to buy some ballet flats, I would go with a more pointed toe that elongates the foot.
Also, if you have wide feet, check out Target for wide shoes. They have a great selection, mostly online, for all different styles. This is the time of year I usually shop for wide spring shoes on their website because they can sell out quickly.

Accessories Trends #3: Cuff Bracelets
When you search “cuff bracelet”, many different styles will come up. But when we think of cuffs, we think more of the “Cleopatra” style large cuffs, which are the most typical. So that’s what we’re including here.
We especially love cuffs for spring/summer because they look amazing with bare, tanned arms!

Accessories Trends # 4: Red Shoes
One of the best things about red shoes is that you can wear them all year long. From suede to patent to studded, they can brighten up any outfit!

Red Sandals
Red Sneakers
Accessories Trends #5: Floral Necklaces
Florals are back this season.
Accessories Trends #6: Shoulder Skimming Earrings
We’re starting to see these long, skimmer earrings everywhere. The nice part is they are flattering to almost all face shapes and add a feminine touch to any outfit. These earrings would look so pretty paired with your favorite summer dress this season.
