New Year’s Eve Makeup: Glam in the New Year!

It’s time for some New Year’s Eve Makeup looks! We have a few days to recover from all the craziness of the holidays and get ready to ring in the New Year. Whether you’re going out or staying in, you can still add some makeup “glam” to your evening. So cheers to 2022! Happy New Year!

Dianne’s New Year’s Eve Makeup Look

I am going to let Jen take the lead here on some amazing New Year’s Eve makeup looks below. But I did want to share the makeup look I put together for our lead outfit in our post on “New Year’s Eve Outfits: Cozy & Sparkling”.

I loved this bronze colored top when we found it, especially because I thought I could come up with a great makeup look that suited both my coloring and the occasion.

New Year Eve's Makeup

I’ve mentioned before that I have hazel eyes that are mostly green but can take on a different cast depending on my clothes and makeup. So, I decided to stay with bronze makeup here to match my outfit.

I went with the shimmer eyeshadow all over my lids and the darker matte color in the crease and the outer corners. The lightest color was used on the inner corners. I used my usual MAC eyeliner (as I always do) and used a lighter lipstick because I wanted the focus to be on my eyes.

My eyeshadow is from a new brand for me, U.K. based, Technic Cosmetics. I actually got this shadow in their makeup Advent calendar this year on Amazon (make a note of that, it’s been great. Although I will remind you next year!).

My lipstick is Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge in Perfect Fig, which appears to be currently out of stock. But it is a brown lipstick with a bit of a pink hue to it. I would call it a “dark nude” color.

That’s my look for this year. Take it away Jen!

Jen’s NYE Looks

Regardless of what you’re doing on New Year’s Eve, why not have a little fun with your makeup? When I think of NYE, I think SPARKLES and GLITTER! So here’s some super fun products to try out for your New Year’s Eve makeup!

Keep the sparkle to the eyes or the lips (and maybe highlight, depending on what you’re using), unless you’re going for the disco ball look!

For your lips, remember you could be smooching someone at midnight, so make sure you either use a liquid lipstick formula, or stick with a gloss or balm!

And in my opinion, I think you should have fun with your makeup and go a little crazy – regardless if you’re dressing up and going out, or staying at home in your pajamas!

Winged Glitter Liner!

You can do a shimmer shadow all over the lid, or matte, as a base. Using a liquid glitter shadow and an angled brush, draw on a wing! Layer on as much shadow as you want for a subtle or bold look! And, if the liner doesn’t work out the way you wanted, you can always move on to look number two!

Winged Glitter Eyeliner

All Over Glitter

You can go bold with a liquid glitter shadow, or use a powder/cream formula for a beautiful and sparkly look!

If you go with a bold glitter shadow, you probably don’t need any liner. Just mascara and you’re done!

And if you use a powder/cream formula, you can do a more subtle black or brown liner across the lash line, or a wing liner!
