We’re all hard at work perfecting our quarantine style, so I wanted to share some of my favorite loungewear to wear at home!
Are you the type that has sleeping sweats and lounging sweats? Or do you wear the same thing day and night? I typically fall into the latter category, but I’m also not picky about what I wear around the clock. As long as it’s comfortable. Obvs.
I’ve been rocking the loungewear at home since quarantine day one, and to be honest, even before that. I know plenty of people who still get dressed up everyday to work from home, mostly for video calls. I don’t have many video calls, and if I do, maybe I’ll change up my top.
Joggers
My number one loungewear favorite to wear at home (and occasionally out in public) has to be joggers. Oh boy do I love joggers. My love for joggers first began after I had our daughter, and was going to be home for three months. There was no way I was going to subject myself to trying on jeans for a long time.
Some of my favorites I bought two years ago, and are still buying now are from Old Navy. They’re so soft and super affordable, hence why I probably have at least 5 pairs at this point. And have worn holes into the butt of a couple pairs too.
At home, all bets are off. But it is possible to wear joggers out in public and still look cute. If they’re high-waisted, make sure you pull them up to prevent a soggy-looking booty. Depending on the season, I’ll wear a simple white t-shirt with a front tuck (love a front tuck!). And a jean jacket and some sneakers. Voila! Cute and casual.
I’ll also sometimes pair this with a nicer bag (unless i need my giant diaper bag backpack) to elevate it a little bit.
Pajamas
Do I wear pajamas all day sometimes? You bet I do! But I’m not going to go out wearing pajamas out in public, because I do care a little bit. If anyone happens to stop by your house, there’s no hiding you’ve been wearing the same thing since last night. But what they don’t know is how many days you’ve been wearing that same pajama set. For me, it’s a crapshoot.
Some of the softest pajamas I’ve found are Stars Above from Target. There’s so many different patterns and styles, it’s easy to look cute while being super comfortable. I had a moment where I thought, maybe I could try just a little bit harder to look decent.
There’s no way I could keep this up day in and day out because I love sweatpants. But it’s fun to put on a cute pair of pajamas after you take your bi-weekly shower (anyone else? ha!).
Basic Hoodies and Sweatpants
I hadn’t thought much about buying basics at the beginning of quarantine, partly because I already had so much stuff. But for Halloween I decided to “take it easy” and just buy us all sweats and be Sesame Street characters. We weren’t doing “traditional” trick or treating, so I didn’t feel the need to try super hard with costumes.
After Halloween, I ended up wearing my sweats more often than I expected to! Not always together because a full red sweatsuit is kind of a lot. But definitely with other things!
Plus, they’re so affordable too and come in so many different colors!
The set I have is by Gildan, but there are a ton of different options!
Robes
No matter what I’m wearing at home, more than likely it also includes a robe. Especially now that it’s cold in Michigan, wearing a robe around the house to stay warm and cozy is the best.
I have a robe that my sister got me for Christmas YEARS ago. I don’t even know how old it is. But it’s so old that the butt area is very worn down and will end up with holes in no time.
I have a couple spa robes, but I don’t wear those as often. When it’s warmer out I don’t really need a robe, unless I’m getting ready for something. It’s all about the cozy robes for me.
My NUMBER ONE favorite loungewear item to wear at home right now is the Barefoot Dreams Full Length Robe. It’s not the most attractive thing I own, but I don’t care one bit. Everything Barefoot Dreams makes is a winner. Everything is so incredibly soft and I can’t get enough. Because I’m on the shorter side, this robe comes down to almost my ankles, and zips top to bottom. Full robe, head to toe. It’s by far my favorite thing I got for Christmas. I know it’s kind of expensive, but I know I’m going to be wearing it pretty much every day. Maybe even in the summer if the AC is cranked up!
A couple other options for amazing soft robes:
Pottery Barn – I got this robe for Christmas too, and it’s also amazing! It’s a standard robe, but is super soft and cozy too. This is great for cold weather, just doesn’t go all the way to your ankles! Ha!
Target – I don’t have this one, but it looks awesome and soft! Plus, super cost effective too!
Bralettes
There was no way I was going to wear a bra all the time in quarantine. I’ve been using bralettes for the past couple years, but I’ve definitely stepped up my game. Not sure if this is technically loungewear, but I definitely wear these at home!
While watching an Instagram story by a popular YouTuber, she mentioned how much she likes the SKIMS Bralettes. I checked them out and for $38 I thought it was worth a shot. I was very pleasantly surprised at how soft and comfortable it is and I wear it all the time.
On Black Friday, I ordered a couple things that were on sale and accidentally ended up out of stock. As an apology, SKIMS offered 50% off my next full-priced order, which I was really impressed with.
I went a little crazy on the site and ordered a whole bunch of items, and I’ve really liked all the bralettes I’ve ordered thus far.
Old Navy also has an awesome selection of bralettes, which I also own! If I’m not wearing one of my SKIMS bralettes, I’m probably wearing one from Old Navy! Super soft, super comfortable and great for wearing during the day and sleeping in!
The Auden line from Target has so many great products too that their bralettes are probably a winner. I was a big fan of their nursing bra and moved to the similar wirefree bra once I wasn’t nursing anymore. That’s the bra I wear any time I have to go out in public and don’t want to wear a bralette. No more wires for this gal!
Velour
Last but not least, and maybe the bougiest thing on this list, velour. A whole separate post about velour but be needed, but I’ll keep this brief. I ordered the SKIMS Velour Sleep Top when I had the 50% off code, and I’m SO GLAD I did. It was so soft, and I instantly loved it. I wear this shirt for days on end while around the house! It is pretty warm, so I can’t sleep in it, but otherwise I wear it pretty consistently.
The only thing I’m bummed about is the pants were out of stock. Because you bet I would wear a full velour outfit if I could!
And what pulls together an at-home loungewear outfit like doing your nails? Am I right?
Or maybe even matching your loungewear or pajamas with your daughter or son? I’m in!
Were there any of your must-haves I missed? I’d love to know your favorite loungewear is to wear at home!
