How to Wear it At Any Age Volume 17

So, for “How to Wear it at Any Age” Volume 17, we going with a “cozy January” vibe. We picked these looks because they made us think of snowy days and wanting to stay warm, toasty, and not to repeat ourselves….cozy.

This is how “How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 17” works: We decide together on the items that we want to style. We do not share how we were going to style each one, so that we can’t influence each other. Sometimes we will style things very similar and sometimes very different. But we hope in all cases we give you some style inspiration, no matter what your age or life stage!

A note about How to Wear it at Any Age” Volume 17: we purchased all of these items during the Christmas season, so unfortunately, two out of three have either sold out or have limited stock as a result. But we’ve done our best to offer similar options so that you can definitely get the same look, even if they are not the exact same pieces!

This Fair Isle sweater and hat is quintessential winter wear! Keeps you warm while its cold outside, and keeps you looking good at the same time.

My favorite way to wear these right now are with jeans, and cute (but good for the winter and snow) boots, and a cute coat.

When it’s snowing outside, I absolutely don’t want snow ending up in my shoes. So these boots are a great compromise for staying warm, dry and fashionable.

Obviously you don’t have to wear the two together, but it’s a really fun, coordinated look.

Turn this sweater and hat set up a notch, and wear both out on a hot date!

Pair the sweater and hat combo with a pair of liquid leggings, and black boots. Ankle boots, over-the-knee boots, anything will work! Just make sure if you’re going to walk around in the snow (and potentially ice), that you’re not going to fall and hurt yourself!

The same cute camel coat will work, or my favorite, a faux-leather jacket (if you’ve been here a while, you know I talk about mine endlessly).

To emphasize your makeup, go with a bold lip (a red, or maybe even a moody dark shade like plum), or smokey eyes. You may be wearing a hat, but you still want the focus to be on your gorgeous face!

Every time I see a fair isle sweater, I wish I was a skier! I envision sitting around a cozy fire in a cute log cabin ski lodge. That’s probably not how it works, but that’s how I picture it anyway.

That’s why I went with the fleece lined leggings along with the ivory combat boots with the Ugg/Telfar bag. Since the sweater and beanie are out of stock, I am listing the sweater and beanie I used in the alternate look below. They still create a great look!

If the coat in this alternate look looks familiar it’s because it is the same as the brown coat we shared in “How to Wear it at Any Age” Volume 14. Everyone seemed to love it so I wanted to look at a different alternative. I love it with the fair isle sweater look.

I pulled out the burgundy in the sweater and tied in the burgundy combat boots. I love the navy puffer tote – it also looked “cozy January” to me and also looks like it would do well in winter weather.

And, of course, you can’t go wrong with a pair of hoops. I love the look of a pair of hoops with a beanie!

Ok, so I will 100% admit I’m a hot-mess mom when I drop Eme off at school. Definitely wearing sweatpants, maybe still my pajamas from the night before, big coat and boots (at least right now). A lot of the moms are like this, so I think we could all be friends.

Now this sweater set is upping my hot-mess mom game for drop off. I’m wearing an outfit that feels like pajamas, a sweater and blanket all in one, but it’s monochrome and chic.

I’d swap out my puffy jacket for my camel coat, and my uggs for my combat boots.

I would even wear this outfit to Target, the grocery store, errands, anything! It looks like an outfit I put thought into, but is effortlessly cool too.

Not just outside the house, I would wear this outfit at home when I’ve looked at myself one too many times in the mirror wearing pajamas from 1.5 pregnancies ago (I’m currently around 22 weeks). Honestly, I’ve put on pajamas where my baby belly is hanging out of the bottom, and I let it ride, because it’s easier than changing again.

I love being at home and being comfortable, and putting on a matching set that looks cute and is comfortable at the same time is a confidence boost I didn’t know I needed.

Makes me feel a little more put together, even when it’s been a few too many days since I’ve washed my hair.

I’ll wear my Barefoot Dreams robe with literally anything to keep me warm, and a pair of slipper booties to wear around the house. Warm and chic!

I intentionally styled this sweater set as a “stay in” outfit. What I love about this look is that it’s what I would call an elevated lounge set. Most of my lounge wear is pretty casual, but this fall we had guests staying with us and I had wished I had something like this for just hanging around the house, but still looking nice.

I do love to read and when I found this tote bag this summer in Columbus (visiting my niece Brittany, Jen’s sister) I had to have it. I knew she liked it too, so when I came home I found another one on eBay. But it must have been the last one because I can’t find it anywhere. I did find a cuter alternative though.

One of my favorite combinations is black and pink, so I went all out with this combination. I don’t know if you’d want to wear all these together, but I’ve given you several options.

The black/hearts throw is also a perfect Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day gift also. Something to keep in mind! I haven’t shopped at Victoria’s Secret in a while but they had some other cute heart items including a bath robe in this same pattern.

Lavender Fuzzy Cardigan

At this stage of my pregnancy, adding cardigan sweaters to my wardrobe is one of the easiest pieces to incorporate! I can wear this sweater with all of the maternity clothes I have, and it’ll still look cute and fit once the baby is here!

This lavender makes me instantly think of Valentine’s Day (more to come on that soon!) and a cute, girly outfit! If I was going into the office regularly, it’s something I would wear at work to “celebrate” Valentine’s Day!

I’d keep it simple with a white shirt and jeans, and change out my shoes depending on the situation and weather. And then, wear a lot of really cute jewelry with it!

Pairing this sweater with a floral dress screams “I’m ready for spring!”, bring on the warm weather!

Depending on the weather, include some opaque nude tights to keep your legs warm.

If you live somewhere it’s not super snowy, this outfit might be easier for you to wear! If your weather is snowy, and there’s a good chance you’d slip wearing heels, what about some combat boots? The look is girly and fun, but not too girly.

Or even a pair of white sneakers when the weather is warm enough would look really great!

Another one of my favorite color combinations is lavender and navy. So I put together a more athleisure look with navy leggings and a striped top.

I was excited to find these lavender Allbirds. If you’ve been following us for a while, then you know that both Jen and I love Allbirds (and we both wore them all through Disney for 10 days). You can’t go wrong with how comfortable they are.
