Welcome to “How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 12”. This round we’re focusing on transitional looks. Outfits you can wear now and into fall. We’re also including alternative looks, to give you more ideas on how these pieces might work with your style.
This is how “How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 12” works: We decide together on the items that we want to style. We do not share how we were going to style each one, so that we can’t influence each other. Sometimes we will style things very similar and sometimes very different. But we hope in all cases we give you some style inspiration, no matter what your age or life stage!

Pink Dress from Amazon, $45.99

Green Kimono from Amazon, $22.99
How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 12: Green Kimono
DIANNE’S STYLING
I love kimonos and I think they are actually a little underrated! They can be worn so many ways and you can dress them up or dress them down. I styled it in the most traditional way, and the way I will most likely wear it. I think it looks just as good “out” and it does tied at the waist.
The shirt under my kimono is a scoop neck body suit from Gap Factory and my shoes are from Target (no longer available).
For my alternative looks, I picked one (the dress) that I thought would look great with the kimono as it is. The second look, the shorts, I thought would look great with the kimono tied at the waist. So much versatility in one piece!

I really love how versatile this kimono can be! In the summer, it’s a great addition to a basic tank top and jean shorts or jeans. It’ll give your outfit a pop of color and look more put together.
Plus, it’ll keep you warmer at night if it starts to get a little chilly. A lot of summer evenings get a little bit chilly, but if you put on a sweatshirt you’d end up too hot!
Another way to wear this kimono that I love is in the fall with a turtleneck and jeans! A turtleneck bodysuit is the perfect top to layer with the kimono. You want the flowyness of the kimono to stand out!
Sometimes when it gets colder out, wearing just a sweater and jeans can get so boring (at least for me it does). So adding a kimono on top gives you an extra oomph!

How To Wear it at Any Age: Pink Dress
DIANNE’S STYLING
Jen and I both look for items for each “At Any Age”. When Jen found this dress, I wasn’t quite sure I was going to like it, but I love it. I tend to stay away from fuller, longer dresses because I am only 5’3″, but this dress has an amazing flattering fit!
It also has a very important snap closure on the front. Usually wrap dresses tend to pull open but this one keeps you covered. This is just a very feminine dress that makes you feel pretty.
This dress is so pretty on it’s own, that it doesn’t need much. But you could easily “country it up” and wear it to a country concert, so I had a little bit of fun with that. And on the flip side, you could add some silver metallic wedges and a pashmina and dress it up just a bit too.
My shoes are from Target ($29.99 and they come in wide widths – yay for me!) and my bag is the Nora Tote from K. Carroll Accessories ($59.99).
Updated: If you saw our recent Instagram Reel (April 2023) then you saw this new bag. You can shop the bag here. It’s currently on sale for $65. It’s the only place that I found the bag in stock.

I won’t lie, I think this dress is absolutely beautiful, but I had no idea how to dress it up differently! So rather than going for completely different looks, I thought changing up the jewelry is the way to go!
I don’t usually wear a lot of jewelry, but I have been into sparkly rings lately. So I stacked all the sparkly rings I have and some sparkly earrings. I’ve been really into clean, open necklines lately, so I probably wouldn’t wear a necklace. But layered necklaces would look gorgeous with this too!
Pearls are a really pretty and classy addition to this dress. Just imagine how cute this look would be at a bridal shower, or a spring or summer wedding!

How to Wear it at Any Age: Zebra Sweater
DIANNE’S STYLING
Hello Zebra! There’s a new animal in town. No, leopard is not out, but we like the fresh look of this zebra print – and black and white is always in style.
I always love a black and white outfit with a pop of color, which is why I added the red bag. But if you recently read Jen’s post on Barbiecore Pink, then you know that’s another great option that I included in one of my alternate outfits.
We showed this Spanx Faux Leather Leggings in “How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 5” and we both still love and wear them – as you can see! We both picked them to wear with this sweater! You can purchase them at Nordstrom.
My red purse is from Amazon’s The Drop ($39.90) and my booties are Marc Fisher that I got last year and are sold out. But this pair ($189) is a great alternative.
For my alternate looks, you’ll see i had to add red again, this time in a red pant. And then the Barbiecore pink bag with jeans for a more casual look.

This sweater is so fun, and right on trend with the print. The easiest way to wear this sweater is with jeans and sneakers and some simple jewelry while you’re out and about (sparkly jewelry is always a good idea, and can be “simple”!).
I love the look of pairing with a backpack, so it’s a functional and super cute outfit if you’re running errands or going to dinner with friends.
Turning up the edginess factor is just as easy! Swap out jeans for some liquid leggings and you’ve already got a completely different look! Wear some combat boots to look edgier, or heels for more of a going out look.
Pile on some sparkly jewelry, and a cute black bag, and you’re good to go!

How to Wear it at Any Age Volume 12: Crochet Sweater
We picked this sweater because it was a trend “BOGO”! You get the brown and the crochet trend in one place. This sweater is great for both early season and late season, but we do like the brown color going into fall. Unfortunately, a lot of other people must have also, because the brown is sold out. They do still offer the sweater in black and white – and we’ll put the links below.
I happen to love brown and white together, so I love giving this sweater a summer feel with the white shorts and straw bag. But in the alternate outfits, I went a little more transitional.

Brown AND crochet! Two trends in one! Brown is a great color to wear in the summer, and is great for transitioning into the fall.
Feeling more of a fall vibe? Pair this sweater with some plaid pants and booties, moccasins or boat shoes to get you in the pumpkin spice mood. Recognize these pants from a previous AAA? We wore them during the winter, but they work for the fall too!
Want to dress this top down a little more? Jeans and a pair of comfy pair of birkenstocks still tie in the brown and crochet trends, but in a more casual way.
