For the past 17 years, Glamour has put together the Glamour Beauty Awards. Out of all the lists they’ve put together, the Readers’ Choice Awards are especially important because it’s what real readers use and love everyday. This year they received over 36,000, so you know these products have to be good. Here’s our favorites from the Glamour Beauty Awards Readers’ Choice winners! Jen’s List
Best Exfoliator: The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
This exfoliator makes your skin glowy after the first use. Apply it on dry skin and tingle for 10 minutes before washing it off.
Best Face Mask: Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask
Wake up to beautiful skin after you apply this mask before bed. I have noticed in the morning it will start to pill. So make sure you wash your face before running out in the morning!
Best Dark Spot Treatment: OleHenriksenGlow 2OH Dark Spot Toner
I just got this during the Sephora Spring Savings Event, so I can’t speak to its efficacy just yet. But I’ll keep you updated on what I think! I’ve been using it for a couple weeks, and I like it thus far but haven’t seen any crazy changes yet!
Best Razor: Gillette Venus Vera Bradley Disposables
I’ve been using Gillette Venus razors for as long as I can remember, and they’ve always worked the best for me. Maybe it’s because I’m older, but I don’t get nearly as many nicks and cuts ad I did when I was younger and using disposable razors.
Best Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
I tend to have normal to dry skin, and I noticed this powder made my foundation look dry. But it’s still a great powder, it just doesn’t work as well for me as it does others. I use Coty Airspun Powder for the most part. It works well with my skin and is affordable!
Best Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer
This is a holy grail concealer for a lot of people, including me! This concealer is very full coverage and matte. Make sure you use eye cream, otherwise if your under eyes are dry this could end up a crinkly mess!
Best Primer: E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer
I recently started using this primer and it’s amazing! The first time I used this primer, I was so happy with how my foundation turned out that day, even though I’d used it plenty of times before! If you get this primer, make sure you get the Putty Primer Applicator too. The scoop end is perfect for getting out the product (otherwise it gets under my nails), and the brush end blends the primer right into your skin. I’ve used more expensive putty-like primers that just balled up on my skin, so I’m super impressed with this one.
Best Lash Serum: Grande Cosmetics GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum
I just got this lash serum during the Sephora event, so I don’t know how well this one works yet either. Years ago I used Latisse and Lash Boost and loved how long my lashes got. So I hope this does the same!
Best Eyeliner: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
These eyeliners are great quality, stay on for a long time, and there’s so many colors to choose from! I first started using this liner when my best friend got me the Deep End liner (a bright metallic peacock shimmer) and a liquid glitter liner. My friends know I’ll try different things with my makeup! I have this liner in black and a couple shades of brown, and I’ve gone through at least two or three!
Best Bronzer: Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer
This is such a great go-to bronzer, and can work on so many different skin tones. They’ve also expanded the line to lighter and darker shades so even more people can use it! It’s a matte formula that’s not too orange or too ashy.
I haven’t used Hoola in a while because I bought a very expensive Marc Jacobs bronzer that I now realize was 2.5 years ago. So maybe it’s time to repurchase this!
Best Lip Gloss: Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
Up until recently I wasn’t a huge gloss fan. I was into matte lipsticks, plus gloss always got stuck in my hair. This gloss came in a Sephora value set, and it’s so pretty! I don’t wear much lipstick or gloss at the moment anyway, but it looks great wearing this alone or on top of lipstick. Put a little gloss on the center of your lips to make them look bigger!
Best Nail Polish: OPI Nail Lacquer
OPI Nail Lacquer is an oldie but a goodie. So many beautiful colors, and so many cult favorites. Lincoln Park After Dark, anyone? Or Big Apple Red?
Best Blow-Dryer/Styler: Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Brush
I had a friend tell me to get this brush, and then I started seeing it everywhere, so I decided to take her word for it. Personally, I’ve learned that my hair looks best when I wash it at night and in the morning dampen it (weird, I know) and style. Before that meant blow drying my hair with a round brush and then using a straightener. And now, all I need is this brush!
Dianne’s List
Your eyes are not deceiving you, this is not a mistake. The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Brush is so good that it bears repeating. I have very fine and thin hair. My hair looks better when it’s styled straight but heat, especially a straightener, is tough on my hair. While I still need a little bit of a curling iron touch up, this blow dryer is truly amazing!
Best Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
I love all CeraVe products. They are affordably priced and my dermatologist recommended their products to me which makes it even better. I have used this moisturizing cream in the past and every morning I use their AM Facial Moisturizing lotion, as I mentioned in my post on mature skin care.
Best Antiaging Serum: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex
This list is shaming me into using the sample bottles of Advanced Night Repair I have in my beauty drawer. I can be hesitant to try new products at times because of my sensitive skin (and why my list is much shorter than Jen’s) but this one has to be good. I already use other EstĂ©e Lauder skin products that I love. So, tonight’s the night to give this a try!
Best Body Wash/Scrub: Dove Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Polish
This is on my “must buy” list. For the last several months I have been using Dove’s Gentle Exfoliating Nourishing Body Wash which I love. As we’re getting closer to summer and needing to exfoliate more for self-tanners, I am going to add this to my summer routine.
Hair Oil/Shine Serum: John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength 6 Effects + Serum
I use John Frieda Frizz Ease products every summer. My hair is not naturally frizzy, except in heat and humidity. Because, as I mentioned, my hair is very fine, a little bit goes a long way. If you have hair like mine, just use a small amount so it doesn’t weigh down your hair.
Best Dry Shampoo: Batiste Dry Shampoo in Original
I learned about this dry shampoo years ago and has been a staple ever since. I have a tendency to want to wash my hair every day, which really isn’t the best idea. So to talk myself out of it and give my hair a refresh, I will use Batiste.
Item I Am Not Familiar With That I Want to Try:
Best Dark Spot Treatment: OleHenriksenGlow 2OH Dark Spot Toner
I’ve told you all the products that I like, here’s one that intrigues me that I want to try. I don’t have a dark spot toner in my regimen, but I’d like to try one. Jen just purchased it at the Sephora sale but hasn’t used it enough yet to see a change yet – we’ll let you know the results!
