Beauty At Any Age Volume 8: The Best Pink Lipstick

Wearing pink lipstick is a really fun addition to any makeup routine that works at any time. But spring is an especially fun time to start wearing more fun colors when doing your makeup!

Doesn’t have to be a hot neon pink either, any pink can have a permanent rotation in your makeup bag.

Welcome to “Beauty At Any Age Volume 8”! This is the “sister” series to our “How to Wear it at Any Age”. In this series, we take one beauty trend and demonstrate how it works for both of us. This month, it’s pink lipstick!

The Prep:

No matter what kind of lipstick I’m wearing, I always make sure I’m prepping my lips first.

Check out how I prep my lips from our first Beauty at Any Age post!

The Application:

Also similar to dark lipstick, I always make sure to line my lips with a similar color lip liner before applying. If you want to do a little bit of overlining, now is the time to do so!

Bullet lipsticks work great for more neutral pink colors. But if you’re going for a bright pink look, a liquid lipstick will give you much more lasting power.

As much as I hate to admit it, my lips do show some signs of aging. So preparation is even more important for me. It’s important to keep my lips both exfoliated and moisturized. Here are four of my favorite products for prepping my lips.

The Lanolips lips products are, in order, a moisturizer and an exfoliator. The next set of products starts with Strivectin’s “Double Fix for Lips” which both plumps the lips and works on the fine lines around the lips.

The next is Mac’s “Prep and Prime” which I use everyday under my lipstick. It really does give my lips a smoother look.

My Favorites

I don’t wear lipliner that often, mostly just for special occasions. So I focused on finding shades of pink in my favorite lipstick brands. I use both department store and drugstore lipsticks and find there are great products in both places.

I included the Clinique Chubby Sticks because Clinique has brought them back. If you are looking for more of a colored lip balm, I think you will love these.

The first two lipsticks are the ones I am wearing in the pictures above, followed by two more shades in the same brands (Maybelline and Cover Girl).
