Here’s What You Need From the Sephora Spring Savings Event

Last updated on December 27th, 2021 at 11:22 pm

It’s almost time for the Sephora Spring Savings Event! If you’re not familiar, twice a year Sephora has a savings event where you can save a certain percentage off your purchases for a specific time period, based on the Beauty Insider level you are.

Rouge – 20% 4/9-4/19
VIB – 15% 4/13-4/19
Insider – 10% 4/15-4/19

Joining the Beauty Insider program is free, and you earn points for every dollar spent in the store. Then you can use your points to get deluxe samples with your order. Reach VIB Status by spending $350 in a year, and Rouge Status by spending $1,000.  Here are our favorites and the new products we’ll be adding to cart!

Dianne’s Picks

If you scroll forward, you’ll see that Jen has a lot more picks than I do. It’s not because I am any less adventurous that she is (well, maybe just a little). It’s more so because “at this age”, I’ve come to a place where I know what works best for my skin. I’ve experimented with eyeshadow color, lip color, you name it, and I tend to come back to the tried and true. But that doesn’t mean I don’t continue to look for products to add; products that are better or different than what I am already using. So here are my “tried and true”, along with some new products I am planning to pick up during the sale.

Tried and True:
The Harper Girls Sephora Sale Picks
A part of my “Tried & True” Collection.
All available at sephora.com

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation – No doubt you’ve heard of this foundation before. It’s one of the best selling foundations in the country. I have been using it for as long as I can remember. This is one of those items that once I found it, I never looked back. If you’re looking for a full coverage foundation, this is for you! Estée Lauder also started selling a foundation pump for their Double Wear for only $10. It’s a nice add and avoids wasting product.

Estée Lauder also recently introduced a new product that I like as an alternative to full foundation. Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Foundation goes on more like a CC cream than a foundation. It’s very moisturizing and feels good on my skin. What I also like is that it comes in the same shades at the Double Wear, so no matter which one I wear, the color looks the same on my skin.

Original Beauty Blender Makeup Sponge – I really do believe that this makes a difference when applying foundation. I don’t use it every day – I use it for special events, photos, etc. Whenever I get compliments on my skin, it’s usually when I’ve used the beauty blender. Just remember to use it wet, not dry!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit – This is another one of my go-to’s when I really want a perfect finish. The contouring and the highlighting shades blend perfectly.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – Mascara is the one thing that I do continue to try different brands. This is my latest favorite. I don’t have the best natural lashes, but this mascara makes me feel like I do!

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt – Neither Jen or I can say enough good things about this scent. For the sale, I plan to add the Body & Hand Wash. It’s a little pricey, but it smells so good. I also recommend trying the Jo Malone Cologne Discovery Set if you want to try some of her other scents without making a large investment.

Things I Want to Try:

IT Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Gel Eyeliner – I recently learned of the story of the founder of IT Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima and it was very inspiring. It made me want to try their products and since I am always on the hunt for a good eyeliner, I’ve picked this one to try.

St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse – Jen and I will be doing a self tanner comparison in the near future and this is the brand I have decided to try. I’ve always heard good things and the sale is a great time to try it out. I’ve also been told to make sure that you get the applicator mitt, so I will be adding that as well.

Nars Blush – I have been reading about this blush for years and I’ve never taken the plunge, but this is the year. I’ve also read that the shade “Orgasm” is universally flattering on everyone, so that is the color I am going to try.

Bite Beauty Millennial Pinks 4-Piece Mini Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon Set – I was a huge fan of Bite Beauty a few years back and then they discontinued most of their products to go completely vegan. All their products are completely reformulated and I haven’t tried them yet. So, again the sale is a great time to give them a try.

Jen Picks – What I have and recommend:

Here’s What You Need From the Sephora Spring Savings Event
Makeup

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer – I have super stubborn dark circles, so this does a great job helping to cover them up

Benefit Cosmetics Cheek Stars Reunion Tour Palette – Hoola Bronzer is a cult favorite, and their blushes are always great. Plus, the cookie highlighter is so pretty and for a while was only available in a palette

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush – I have three different colors and they’re all so pretty. They’re super pigmented so be ready to blend as soon as you put a drop on your face!

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF – if you want flawless looking skin AND SPF protection

Perfume

Jo Malone London Wood Sage + Sea Salt Cologne – if you read our post on our favorite perfumes, you’ll remember this was on both our lists. It’s a little pricey, but if you can afford it during the sale, go for it!

Devices

PMD Personal Microderm Pro – quarantine has been a great time for working on my skin, and microdermabrasion is a great way to get a glowing complexion

Dermaflash Dermapore Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser – this is addicting to use to get all the gunk out of your pores! I use it after I get out of the shower so my pores are more open

Foreo Luna Mini – I like using this after I’ve been wearing makeup to make sure I’m getting it all off

Nurse Jamie Uplift Massaging Beauty Roller – I like to mindlessly use this beauty roller on my face and jawline when I’m sitting around watching TV, or even listening in on a virtual meeting

Skin/Body

Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask – my skin always feels super soft after using this! If I hadn’t bought another bottle during the last sale, I’d be stocking up on another!

What I love and going to stock up on:

Dr Dennis Gross Peel, OUAI Leave-in Conditioner, Juliette has a gun, KVD Tattoo Liner, what you need from the Sephora spring savings event
Makeup

KVD Beauty Tattoo Liner – I stopped using this brand for a while, but picked back up when the owners changed. I’ve always loved this liner though, and make sure I have backups for when I run out!

Perfume

Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume – I have the travel size of this amazing perfume, and it’s time to upgrade to the full size!

Skin/Body

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel – I use these a couple times a week, and my skin is always super soft afterward

OUAI Body Cleanser – the smell of this reminds me of when Aunt Dianne and I went to Paris! And it’s moisturizing for my dry skin

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask – love this! Wear it overnight and wake up to beautiful glowing skin!

GLAMGLOW Supermud Treatment Mask – this mask is addictive when you see all the oil getting sucked out. I ran out a little bit ago, so it’s time to order more!

Hair

OUAI Leave in Conditioner – I use this every time I wash my hair, and I’m running low!

What I want to try out (but I can’t buy everything because I’ll be poor):

Makeup

Natasha Denona Glam Shadow Palette – Natasha Denona is supposed to have an amazing shadow formula, and I really like this color story. So at 15% it might be worth a shot!

GrandeLASH Lash Enhancing Serum – I used Latisse before my wedding and I loved how long my lashes were. Hoping to find something with similar results, without having to visit the dermatologists office

Laneige Lip Treatment Balm – if you read our post on lip care, you might remember that I’m a fan of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, so combine the brand and lip balm and I’m intrigued

Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick – I know no one is wearing lipstick right now, but I’ve always wanted to try the Pat McGrath Labs lipstick, and maybe this time I’ll just go for it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax – I got the Revolution Beauty styling wax because I wasn’t sure how much I’d like the look on me. Now that I know I like the look, maybe it’s time to try something with more hold!

Skin/Body

OLEHENRIKSEN Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner – my skin holds onto melanin like crazy. So I’m on the hunt for products to brighten up my skin

Supergoop! Mineral Sunscreen – I’ve been on the hunt for a good facial sunscreen and have seen good things about Supergoop! It might be worth a try! It helps block blue light as well!

Glow Recipe Fruit Babies Best Sellers – I already know I like the Watermelon Sleeping Mask, so I’m interested in what other products Glow Recipe has!

Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm – I haven’t tried using a cleansing balm yet to get my makeup off, but I’ve heard it’s great at getting your face clean. Plus, this product has phenomenal reviews!

Hair

OUAI Volume Spray – anything I can try to do to give my hair some volume, I’ll give it a shot

OUAI Hair Treatment Mask – I use and love the older version of the OUAI hair mask. I’m interested to try the new one!
